Halloween

I can't believe it's almost Halloween. I hope you all have decided what you are going to be!! We have been so busy and school(for Derek and I) is just flying by. We are already having parent teacher conferences (for our kids). Seems like we all just got started.
This past week has been pretty crazy! It started this past weekend on Friday, when I was driving out to my in-laws to pick up our kids after a sleep over and hit a dog with my car. I have never hit an animal in my life. My sweet sister in-law was passing me at the same time and thought I had blown a tire. She turned around to help me only to discover what I had done!! (I am sure she was horrified)The owner of the pet heard the big BANG and came running. The dog was still breathing but wouldn't move. When she got closer and started talking to the dog it started wagging it's tail. I left her there with the dog waiting for her husband to arrive so they could take the dog to the vet. I thought about that dog the rest of the weekend and finally stopped by the families home yesterday to see how things went. I was surprised to find out that the dog survived. (I hit her hard) They found out the dog was pregnant(but lost the puppies in the accident) Their vet told them that her being pregant is was saved her.(go figure) any how all is well with the doggie! Saturday evening I was in my basement hangin out and heard sirens. I thought they sounded close but then they stopped so I didn't think much about it. I headed upstair a while later and happened to look out the window and saw fire trucks, police cars, ambulance... and smoke billowing out of my neighbors home. I couldn't believe it. The family is in our ward and just recently had a new baby (their 4th). Thier 2 year old was badly burned and flown to Utah to a burn center there. I did see them tonight and they said the 2 year old will be ok. They will have alot of work to do on their home but they were just relieved that their son would be recover. Crazy!! That is about all of the excitment in our neck of the woods. Hopefully this week will be a little more uneventful. Enjoy your halloweening and keep in touch. Love you all.

Yikes! You guys DID have an eventful weekend! I'm glad the dog lived and that your neighbor's are ok. Makes you a little more grateful for what you have. We miss you guys and can't wait to see you tomorrow!

I think I would spend an evening and just cry. The heart just jumps into the throat with events like that. Glad everyone is doing all right.
